Easy pizza turnovers

These pizza turnovers are a great way to use up leftovers, and super easy to make. They are also sturdy enough for lunchboxes and picnics.

What you need

  • Shortcrust pastry
  • Pizza sauce
  • Grated cheddar and/or mozzarella
  • Meat and/or veggies of your choice

What you do

  1. Roll out the pastry and cut into squares about 10x10cm
  2. Spread with pizza sauce. I had some leftover bolognese sauce I added, and you could also use pesto. If you don’t have pizza sauce try a mix of tomato puree and ketchup
  3. Top with shredded meat and chopped vegetables, and sprinkle over the cheese. I used sausage and salami, tomatoes and red onions, and cheddar and mozzarella
  4. Fold two corners into the middle, and overlap slightly, sealing with egg wash

5. Brush the turnovers with egg wash and bake for about 20 mins at 180C, or until browned
